Activator® Course for PD Wellness is interactive and dynamic, a combination of evidence based research, practical demonstrations, video analysis, and hands-on training - all focused to help your clients live their based life with PD. 

A pair of Activator Poles and Boot Tips are included in the price of enrollment.

What you will learn!

  • Activator® and Urban Poling Walking Technique

    Understand the principles and benefits of pole walking as an effective form of rehabilitation and fitness for People with Parkinson's.  Learn how to teach the techniques, provide various types of cuing based on individual learning styles, and discuss how to determine the appropriate technique for each individual.  
  • Targeted Exercises & Community Classes

    Practice exercises targeting PD specific symptoms based on current PD Exercise recommendations. As well, learn best practices for starting a successful community class.
  • Lab Sessions

    The course has many practical sessions that allow you to practice in real time and get feedback from the instructor. 
Instructor

Sunhan Anderson | DPT Bsc

Sunhan completed her doctorate degree in Physical Therapy in 2006 at the University of Minnesota. She is certified in: the LSVT BIG, PWR! Moves, and Rock Steady Boxing program. Sunhan is currently working towards a diploma in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy. Sunhan enjoys the challenges of working with clients with multiple conditions, with her main focus being the rehabilitation of patients with neurological diagnoses like Parkinson’s, Stroke, and Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
Also highly experienced in treating orthopaedic conditions, Sunhan works with a variety of clients whose conditions include sports injuries, strains/sprains, arthritis, and post-operative rehabilitation. In addition to helping individual clients, Sunhan also leads weekly group exercise classes for people with Parkinson’s.. Sunhan strives to promote an active lifestyle and helps clients return to activities that bring joy in their lives by providing evidence-based.
