Learn about the dynamic, evidence-based ACTIVATOR® Program prescribed as best practice for rehabilitation programs across Canada & abroad to improve outcomes in posture, balance, pain management, and gait.  Discover how Activator Poles can be an effective alternative to passive devices, such as canes, and to delay/reduce the use of walkers and crutches.

    Understand the principles and benefits of pole walking as an effective form of rehabilitation and fitness for individuals with a variety of diagnosis - from ortho to neuro.  Learn how to teach the techniques, provide various types of cuing based on individual learning styles, and discuss how to determine the appropriate technique for each individual.  
  • ACTIVATOR® Poles vs Other Devices

    Learn the ergonomic benefits of Activator® Poles over other passive assistive devices.  Designed by an Occupational Therapist and Gerontologist to have added safety and comfort features over other poles on the market.  Deemed by clients as an ability tool vs disability device.  
  • Treatment Modalities and Exercises

    Learn how the Activator® Poles will change your clinical practice by adding innovative exercise ideas to your treatment sessions.  The course provides many exercise examples and demonstrations to help improve functional movements for clients with a variety of diagnosis:  ortho injuries, PD, MS, Stroke, Vestibular, to name a few.

Sartre “Satou”‘ Jean-Gilles 

Sartre Jean-Gilles is an online personal fitness coach who is passionate about working with busy home-based entrepreneurs to form healthy habits and improve their overall fitness. Sartre supports your individual weight loss goals without you having to give up your favourite foods or spend a lot of time
exercising.
Sartre graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Human Kinetics, and the University of British Columbia with a Master’s of Health Administration. He has worked in various healthcare-related settings including rehab clinics, hospitals and his own online fitness training and behaviour change coaching enterprise.
